PRIVACY POLICY – “KaGB Mpower” MOBILE APPLICATION

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy governs the access, collection, usage, storage, and protection of information in the “KaGB mPower” Mobile Application (“Application”) developed by Karnataka Grameena Bank (“Bank”) for internal use by its authorized staff for monitoring and recovery of stressed assets.

By accessing and using the Application, the user agrees to comply with this Privacy Policy, which shall form part of the terms governing usage of the Application.

2. Definitions
  • Application: KaGB mPower Mobile App used for recovery and monitoring activities.
  • User: Authorized bank staff accessing the Application using domain credentials.
  • Customer/Borrower: Person whose account details are available in the Application.
  • Data: Includes borrower details, account information, contact details, location data, photographs, and follow-up records.
  • Bank: Karnataka Grameena Bank
3. Scope of Data Collection

The Application may collect and process the following information strictly for official purposes:

  • Borrower account details including SMA/NPA classification, Suit Filed, DRT, and SARFAESI status
  • Contact details such as mobile number and address
  • Location details for borrower identification
  • Follow-up notes, commitments, and recovery remarks
  • Photographs captured during field visits
  • Updates made to customer information such as mobile number and address
4. Purpose of Data Usage

The collected information shall be used only for:

  • Monitoring and recovery of stressed assets
  • Customer communication and follow-up
  • Documentation of recovery activities
  • Internal reporting, audit, and compliance requirements

The data shall not be used for personal, commercial, or non-official purpose

5. Data Confidentiality and Security
  • All information accessed through the Application shall be treated as confidential.
  • The Bank shall implement reasonable security measures to protect data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
  • Access to the Application is restricted through secure authentication (Domain credentials and OTP).
  • Users are responsible for safeguarding login credentials and preventing unauthorized access.
6. Sharing of Data

The Bank may share or process data:

  • Within its internal systems for operational purposes
  • With authorized service providers or technology partners strictly for service delivery
  • As required under applicable laws, regulations, or directives

No data shall be shared for purposes unrelated to official banking functions

7. User Responsibilities

The User shall:

  • Use the Application strictly for official duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of borrower data and login credentials
  • Ensure that device access is restricted to authorized use only
  • Immediately report loss/theft of device or suspected misuse
  • Not store, copy, or share data outside permitted systems

Any breach of confidentiality or misuse of data will attract disciplinary action as per Bank rules.

8. Data Retention

All data captured and stored in the Application shall remain the property of the Bank and shall be retained as per the Bank’s record retention and regulatory requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Bank shall not be held responsible for:

  • Unauthorized access due to user negligence
  • Loss or leakage of data arising from misuse of credentials or device
  • Technical failures beyond the control of the Bank, including system or network issues
10. Amendments

The Bank reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. Such changes shall be communicated through official channels and shall be binding on users.

11. Acceptance

By using the “KaGB mPower” Application, the User acknowledges and agrees to adhere to this Privacy Policy and confirms compliance with all applicable confidentiality and data protection norms.
